Scouts, Elks Retire Flags At Fort Ontario
Most people believe the right way to retire an American Flag is to burn it – whole. However, that is not entirely correct. On Saturday, historic Fort Ontario hosted several representatives of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Oswego Lodge #271 as well as a large contingent of Girl Scout troops 10566 and 10567. Nearly two dozen members of the public were also in attendance.
Economic Development Organization Presents Annual Activity Summary, Achievement Awards
Operation Oswego County held its 66th annual meeting at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, in Oswego on Friday, June 15. Barbara Bateman, president of the OOC board of directors, welcomed more than 150 representatives of businesses, government, education, labor and other ally organizations to the meeting. Keynote presenter Tim Hardy, General Manager of Sunoco Agri-Business, shared a video highlighting the 1886 Malt House.
