Governor Cuomo announced the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors approved $662.9 million in grants and interest-free and low-cost loans to support vital wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects. Cities that are earmarked for millions in funding include Oswego.

Many administrative and academic support programs run on campus for international students at SUNY Oswego. International students can also get social and emotional support from organizations and individuals off campus.

On Friday, Joseph A. Stefanovich was found guilty, after a week-long non-jury trial, of Rape in the First Degree in Oswego County Supreme Court. Stefanovich was represented by attorney Edward Z. Menkin. Chief Assistant District Attorney Mark Moody prosecuted the case for the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.
County taxpayers have the option of paying their tax bill in two installments. However, if they do, they face a penalty. Legislator Dan Farfaglia (D – 24th) is proposing amending the interest rate paid on property taxes that are paid in installments. He wants counties to be able to establish their own lower (or maybe eliminate) interest rate on real property taxes paid in installments.
A panel of historians will commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jan. 27 with an illustrated program on the Art and Artists of the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter (1944–1946). The program will be presented by Rebecca Fisher, Fort Ontario Site Supervisor Paul Lear and Frank Sorranno at 7 p.m. in the Frances Marion Brown Theatre in Oswego.
SUNY Oswego’s online MBA tied for 27th among online master of business administration programs nationally — the highest of any institution in the state, according to U.S. News’ 2017 “Best Online Degree Programs: MBA” rankings published Jan. 10.
