3 Fulton Residents Charged in Mexico Burglary

On Jan. 11 at 2:50 p.m., Victorio A. Colon, 20, of Fulton; Luis A. Delgado, 18, of Fulton and Marta J. Nolen, 34, of Fulton, were all arrested for third-degree burglary, a class D felony; fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony; fifth-degree conspiracy, a class A misdemeanor and fourth-degree conspiracy, a class E felony.

Guilty Verdict Returned In Rape Trial

On Friday, Joseph A. Stefanovich was found guilty, after a week-long non-jury trial, of Rape in the First Degree in Oswego County Supreme Court. Stefanovich was represented by attorney Edward Z. Menkin. Chief Assistant District Attorney Mark Moody prosecuted the case for the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.

Legislator Proposing Amending County Tax Law

County taxpayers have the option of paying their tax bill in two installments. However, if they do, they face a penalty. Legislator Dan Farfaglia (D – 24th) is proposing amending the interest rate paid on property taxes that are paid in installments. He wants counties to be able to establish their own lower (or maybe eliminate) interest rate on real property taxes paid in installments.

Jan. 27 Program Focuses on Art and Artists of Fort Ontario Refugee Shelter

A panel of historians will commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jan. 27 with an illustrated program on the Art and Artists of the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter (1944–1946). The program will be presented by Rebecca Fisher, Fort Ontario Site Supervisor Paul Lear and Frank Sorranno at 7 p.m. in the Frances Marion Brown Theatre in Oswego.
