Legislator Drumm announces Multi-Level Government Coalition

County Legislator Tom Drumm announced today the formation of a Governmental Coalition to facilitate communication between city, county, state, and federal governments. The coalition will hold a monthly meeting between city and county officials, and will welcome representatives of state and federal government on a bi-monthly basis. “Far too often, the city and the county are not pulling in the same direction,” said Drumm.

Inside the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego on Sunday afternoon, nearly 200 people were loosing their hair as the St. Baldrick’s Foundation was gaining support. After an hour, the total had hit $49,000. Over the course of its 10 years, Oswego’s St. Baldrick’s events have raised more than $511,600 to help fight childhood cancer.

Business, Education and Labor Voices Express Support for Governor Cuomo’s Proposed Clean Energy Standard

The Upstate Energy Jobs Coalition, which includes business, education, labor, and economic development organizations, today (April 8) expressed strong support for Governor Andrew Cuomo’s proposed Clean Energy Standard following the release of a cost analysis of the plan issued by the state’s Department of Public Service. The CES mandates that 50 percent of all electricity consumed in New York by 2030 come from clean and renewable energy sources.
