The H. Lee White Maritime Museum in Oswego is one of 15 museums and attractions across New York State that are being promoted in the I Love NY Museum Discount this winter. The promotion is sponsored by I Love NY and ends March 31.
On Thursday (February 25), at approximately 6 a.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team and Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team executed a methamphetamine related search warrant at 444 Chapman Road in the town of Parish. One person was arrested. Others arrests are pending.

Cre8 Studios/ Friends of Oswego announced that they will push forward with the proposed St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Oswego despite heated discussions with some city councilors. The free public event intended to celebrate the Irish culture will take place March 12, from 1-2 p.m.
New emergency notification sirens installed by Exelon Generation and Entergy Nuclear have gone into service following approval by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Dale Currier, director of the Oswego County Emergency Management Office, said today (Feb. 24). A new siren testing schedule is also now in effect.
“We have not received a definitive proposal from the state of New York since our settlement talks ended in late 2015. What we’ve read in the NYPSC’s press release today doesn’t provide us with any more certainty than we had in late 2015,” said Mike Twomey, vice president of external affairs for Entergy EWC. Tuesday’s press release by the New York PSC will not change Entergy’s decision to close the FitzPatrick plant, he added.
