Committee Debates What Is ‘City Sponsored?’

At Tuesday night’s Physical Services Committee meeting, Christopher Jones, on behalf of Cre8 Studios, requested to organize and host a St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 12 from 1 to 2 p.m. He also asked that it be a designated city sponsored event. But, just what the definition of ‘city sponsored’ is isn’t all that clear.

State Route 104 Revitalization Plan Presentation Cancelled This Evening

Mayor William Barlow announced the kick-off presentation scheduled for tonight at 6:30 p.m., has been cancelled. Bergmann Associates, the project consultants, who were scheduled to give the presentation were traveling from the Rochester area, and the weather forecast for that area in particular predicted dangerous driving conditions for this afternoon and evening.

Recently, the board of directors for Empire State Development approved Oswego County Land Bank Corporation’s application of incorporation. As stated in the New York State Legislature Land Bank Act of 2011, land banks are non-profit corporations created by the government for the purpose of converting vacant, abandoned and tax delinquent properties back into useful and prosperous properties.

Mayor Billy Barlow announces that on February 16 at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, a kick-off presentation will be held regarding the city’s Route 104 Streetscape Revitalization Project.
