Oswego Plans Flushing On Eastside
Oswego DPW will be performing preventative maintenance flushing of the water distribution system on the eastside of the city starting October 28. The affected area will be south of East Utica Street to the southern city limits and from State Route 481 to the eastern city limits, starting at East Utica Street and State Route 481.
Camp Hollis Hosting A Family Hollis Harvest Day
All Oswego County youth and other family members are invited to celebrate the autumn season on Oct. 19 at the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau’s Hollis Harvest.
This free event will feature games and outdoor activities from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., including fall themed games, trick-or-treating from cabin to cabin, arts and crafts, trail walks, and much more.
Ritchie Invites Public to ‘Send a Touch of Home’ to Overseas Troops
State Senator Patty Ritchie announced she is once again joining with local radio personality Melody Burns to collect donated Christmas cards to be sent to US soldiers serving overseas through the “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program sponsored by the American Red Cross.
OCO To Raise Awareness of Runaway, Homelessness
Oswego County Opportunities to set up a display to make the public aware of runaways and the homeless in Oswego County. The project will be on done in East Park during November. In 2012, OCO assisted 897 youth who found themselves without permanent stable housing.

This investigation was conducted in conjunction with the State Police in Oswego County where the suspect is currently facing charges of Criminal Sex Act and Sexual abuse of three children.
College Student Facing Felony Drug Charge
SUNY Oswego University Police charged a student with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a Class D felony, Wednesday evening. Colin R. Sunday, 18, of Pratt Drive in Poughquag and 205 Johnson Hall on campus, is accused of selling Adderall pills to an undercover UP officer.
Oswego Council OKs Code Changes
The city is cracking down on the use of any upholstered furniture outside, storage of motor vehicles, recreational vehicles and utility and storage buildings among other things. And a public hearing regarding preparation of solid waste for collection is scheduled for later this month.
