Today Rep. Dan Maffei announced the Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department will receive a grant totaling $38,095 in Round 16 of the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency.
At its meeting this week, the Administrative Services Committee gave a favorable recommendation to a proposal from Cedar Path Solutions Group in the amount of $59,434 to furnish and install the required surveillance systems at the Water Treatment Plant and the Munn Street pump station.

On Saturday, family and friends of Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox staged the first-ever “Be Aware ‘Cause It’s Rare… Fight EEE” fundraising event. Held in memory of the young girl who died from EEE in 2011, the event raised awareness as well as funds to fight the disease.
