Six elementary school students, five from Kingsford Park and one from the Oswego Community Christian School, were transported by Oswego City and Menter ambulances as the result of a school bus-pick up truck accident early Monday morning.
On Saturday, family and friends of Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox staged the first-ever “Be Aware ‘Cause It’s Rare… Fight EEE” fundraising event. Held in memory of the young girl who died from EEE in 2011, the event raised awareness as well as funds to fight the disease.

Norm Fischer turned 18 in January 1953 and joined the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department. February marked the 60th anniversary of his continued service to the department, which he actually was a part of right from the very beginning – even though he was too young to officially join.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation will host one of its signature head-shaving events on March 27. The foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers.

The Office of Business and Community Relations (OBCR) at SUNY Oswego would like to thank the community for participating in this year’s National Random Acts of Kindness Week. Students from Fulton, Mexico, Phoenix and Oswego City school districts showed their spirit by performing small random acts of kindness for fellow students and their teachers.
Bonnie Loforte joined more than 500 EF Foundation for Foreign Study International Exchange Coordinators for a fun and informative weekend in Dallas. Attendees, including Loforte, were recognized for their strong commitment to high school student exchange and had an opportunity to celebrate the year’s accomplishments.
