Keeping Pulaski Police Department Could Cost 20% Village Tax Hike

A large crowd attended Tuesday's public hearing on whether to dissolve the Pulaski Police Department.More than 60 people filled the room at the village hall for the public hearing on the March vote to keep or shut down the department.  They heard Mayor Karl Hax say that the department needs a second full-time officer in order to be effective and to raise the hourly rate of part-time deputies in order to attract and keep them.

Oswego County Health Officials Investigate Suspected Case of Bacterial Meningitis at SUNY Oswego

Jiancheng Huang, Oswego County Director of Public Health, said an 18-year-old female college freshman was taken by ambulance to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse early this morning (Feb. 18), as a suspected case of bacterial meningitis. She was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit at SUNY Upstate.
