Councilors Connie Cosemento, Cathy Santos and Bill Sharkey all didn’t seek re-election. Neither did Mayor Randy Bateman. At Monday’s council meeting, the foursome was honored for their service to the city. It is likely their last regular council meeting.

During the month of October, members of the Oswego City Police Department Anti-Crime Team began an investigation into the sale and trafficking of illegal drugs by members of Delta Kappa Kappa and Sigma Tau Chi. The probe has resulted in several arrests.

On Thursday, at 11:10 a.m., Shane Lynn Jackson, 25, of 2018 County Route 1, Apt. 5, Oswego, was arrested for second-degree rape, a class D felony; second-degree criminal sex Act, a class D felony; endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
