State Sues To Shut Down Fundraiser That Worked For Corrections Union At Sheriff’s Department

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo Wednesday announced his office has filed lawsuits to try to shut down four fundraising companies, including the one used by a local union, Stage Door Music Productions.

Stage Door, which has had an office in Fulton, has raised more than half a million dollars using the name of the union.

Zone Change Request Returns To Oswego Council

The request to re-zone 134 E. 13th St. (southerly portion) and 140 E. 13th St. from an R-3 Residential District to a B-1 Neighborhood Business District returned for council consideration Tuesday night. The petition was withdrawn last year due to opposition from some neighbors. The committee favors holding a public hearing to see if there is any lingering opposition to the amended petition.

Uncovered Century-Old Records Presented By School District To Towns

Town officials hold 100-year-old documents which provided a list of attendance in local one-room schools. From left are Town of Oswego Supervisor Victoria Mullen, Oswego Town Historian George DeMass, Oswego School District Records Clerk Liz Woods, Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist, Minetto Town Historian Kathy Mulcahey and Town of Minetto Supervisor Joe Hawksby.

Boxes of old records were being stored at Oswego High School and as they were being sorted for disposal valuable pieces of local history were uncovered. School attendance records from the one-room schools in Minetto and the Town of Oswego from the late 1800s and early 1900s were discovered.
