Oswego Council Eyes Winter Parking Ban

Last winter’s alternate street plan wasn’t the best idea, the mayor said. In lieu of a better plan, the mayor said he’d like to return to the off street winter parking plan the city used for many years prior to last winter. In other committee action, councilors consider a proposal for enhancing the city-owned marina area.

Members Of The Public Speak Out Against Rate Hikes

Councilor John Pat McLaughlin requested discussion regarding the water rates for the city of Oswego. The floodgates were open for more than an hour as dozens of residents berated the councilors. While no action was taken Monday, councilors said they would consider all the comments and discussion would continue at future meetings as the city considered all options.

Dunsmoor Farms Employee Provides Insight to Cause of Massive Fire

Dunsmoor Farms is looking to recoup after a massive fire destroyed the onion farm’s warehouse building yesterday evening (Jan 2.)
Multiple crews responded to the fire at 7965 Rt. 104 in the town of Oswego after a call was made that explosions could be heard from the farm.
While officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, one employee provided some insight as to what caused the devastating blaze to start.
