The New York State Department of Transportation held an open house for the public at Fulton City Hall Wednesday to bring forth an informal presentation of the proposed resurfacing project to take place on Route 3 this spring. The project, planned to begin in the spring of this year, is expected to be completed by fall and will cover the length of Route 3 from Lakeview Avenue on the west side of Fulton to the east city line, near Oneida Street.
Several fire departments were called in Wednesday night to battle a barn fire on Kline Road in Phoenix. No injuries have been reported.

Nine local nonprofit groups received grants totaling $20,000 in the first-ever distribution from the Oswego County Community Foundation. The fund was established in 2013 and reached its $500,000 initial fundraising goal in under two years of operation.
Councilor John Pat McLaughlin requested discussion regarding the water rates for the city of Oswego. The floodgates were open for more than an hour as dozens of residents berated the councilors. While no action was taken Monday, councilors said they would consider all the comments and discussion would continue at future meetings as the city considered all options.
The Oswego Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2016 on New Year’s Day. Adarina Pytlak was born at 3:30 a.m. to proud parents Jennifer Moshier and Alex Pytlak.
