Eric VanBuren (Sixth Ward) and Shawn Walker (Fourth Ward) were appointed president and vice president, respectively of the Oswego Common Council. The Oswego County Legislature got its house in order for 2015, and it looked quite similar to 2014. Kevin Gardner was re-elected as the chairman of the Oswego County Legislature. Fellow Republican Linda Lockwood was re-elected vice chair.
On Dec. 10 the Oswego County Legislature adopted a budget for 2016 that is $2.1 million less than 2015’s budget. The 2016 adopted budget contains $194,733,416 in appropriations, with $45,917,944 raised through the property tax levy.

It looks like Santa Claus better have wheels on his sleigh tonight. According to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service, “Each year we have about a 66.6 percent chance of a white Christmas. This year, it looks like the other 33.3 percent will win out.” After a brief visit from Old Man Winter a couple days ago, December is back in “Indian Summer Mode.”
