On Nov. 10, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office investigated a fatal motor vehicle accident on State Route 3, at the intersection of County Route 7, in the town of Hannibal. The victim in this accident has been positively identified as 66-year-old John W. Fredette, of Fulton.

The city of Fulton Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that the 12th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Jubilee will be held on December 3. The official City Christmas Tree is located across from the Fulton Municipal Building at 141 S. First St.
Many patients have unexpectedly needed to switch physicians after Dr. Dilip K. Roy of Fastcare Family Medical in Fulton was arrested earlier this year for rape in the third degree, and later arrested again on separate charges of forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree from allegations of a former patient.
United States Congressman, John Katko made a stop in Fulton during a trip to numerous Central New York locations yesterday, November 12.

At the city council meeting held November 4, Mayor Ron Woodward Sr. presented a proclamation declaring the 2015 Oswego County Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Fund Drive Season. The key to the Port City’s future could very well lie in its past. A public rally Thursday night to support a process leading to national landmark status for two key Oswego heritage sites drew hundreds to the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center. “The phrase ‘you are history’ has somewhat of a negative connotation to it,” said Jeff Grimshaw, chairman of the Fort Ontario National Landmark Committee. “However, for us it is a positive. We are history.”
Fred Sarkis visited Volney Elementary School recently. The 89-year-old businessman, World War II veteran and author shared his life story with the students. He hopes to convince the Department of Education embrace his story, to promote his non-profit program on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and have the chance to dance with her.
Dozens turned out Wednesday to pay tribute to Oswego’s veterans – past and present. This year marked the 97th anniversary of the first observance of Armistice Day. The best pay a veteran can receive, LTjg George Hoffman, the MC, pointed out, “is a thank you.”
