Oswego mayoral candidate running on the democratic ticket, Amy Tresidder met with a group of local business owners Wednesday at the second participant in the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce event, ‘Meet the Candidates.’

Ana Alcasid has been selected to be a part of the Army All-American Marching Band. She will perform next year during halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Oswego has been represented by at least one band member every year since the selection process began. Alcasid is the 14th OHS student in nine years to earn the honor of being in the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.
Summer 2015 goes into the record books just a tad cooler and a bit wetter, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. The average temperature for this summer was 67.7 degrees. That is just 0.8-degree below average.
The State Police in Fulton have property in their possession that was recovered during a large scale burglary investigation in 2014 that stretched between Oswego and Onondaga counties.

Today (Sept. 21), the Governor announced the nomination of 27 properties to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Nominated in Oswego is the Fort Ontario Military Reservation. The nomination expands and replaces an earlier National Register listing to obtain a more accurate and inclusive boundary more reflective of the fort’s military history.
The First Ward Councilor suggested the restriction of access of DOT inspected vehicles in the First Ward (in residential sections), with the exception of emergency vehicles, that ferry college students to house parties. However, others pointed out that the parties were the real problem, not the buses.

UPDATE (9/21/2015) – Power has been restored to the majority of National Grid customers affected by the equipment failure in Fulton last night (September 20), according to National Grid. After service was restored to many of the affected residences at approximately 3:30 this morning, nearly 80 customers are still left without power, says Virginia Limmiatis of National Grid.
