Dozens Of Volunteers Resurrect East Park Playground

Several Oswego DPW workers and dozens of Novelis employees gave up their Saturday to help rebuild the playground in Washington Square (East Park). Not only have they added new and safer equipment but three new flower beds were also added to the park. “It’s going to look really nice when it’s done,” Councilor Eric VanBuren said. “It’s a big change; a big change from what it was.”

Town of Oswego Enters a New Budgetary Era

The annual payments under the town’s PILOT program with the Metropolitan Water Board end this year, but the development realized in the Town of Oswego since the installation of such water service has, since its initiation, provided many new taxpayers, both individuals and businesses, to shoulder our burden of annual municipal expenses. The town board has decided to make up for the loss of the PILOT revenue over two years.

Oswego County Drug Task Force Announces Arrest of Volney Man

A search warrant was executed on the residence of Martin E. Madden in the town of Volney following an investigation conducted by the Oswego County Drug Task Force, the Fulton City Police Department and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department. The search warrant reportedly resulted in the discovery of 27 marihuana plants and more than two pounds of processed marihuana and fireworks within his residence and outbuildings, it was announced Oct. 22.
