Al Roker, SUNY Oswego’s most visible alumnus, plans to bring his NBC “Today” show segments to campus Oct. 16. Long an ardent and generous supporter of his alma mater, the “Today” co-anchor and weather and feature anchor also plans to take part in the college’s 10th annual Lewis B. O’Donnell Media Summit at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Marano Campus Center arena and convocation hall.
Today (Sept. 18), the Hon. Daniel King, Acting Oswego County Court Judge, issued a scheduling letter permitting the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office to file a full and complete response to the CPL 440.30 motion filed by Gary Thibodeau on or before October 10, 2014. The court is permitting the People to respond to both the original motion filed by Thibodeau’s attorneys on July 30, 2014, as well as the Supplemental Affirmations filed on August 26, 2014.

With summer waning, the city of Fulton Common Council voted unanimously to accept the bid for its winter supply of road salt and do some fall cleaning in the clerk’s office during its regular meeting on Tuesday (Sept. 16).
State Police in Hastings are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on September 13 at approximately 9:30 p.m. at Speedy’s Mobil Gas Station located at 2634 ST-49, West Monroe. The suspect entered the store, brandished a handgun and forced two employees on the floor and left the store with money from the cash register.
State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Fulton arrested John R. Verdoliva, 47, of 120 W. Schuyler St., Oswego. He was charged with Sexual Abuse 2nd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both are class A misdemeanors.
The Oswego County Health Department reported that the Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus has been found in five new mosquito samples collected last week. Three of the samples were taken from the town of New Haven, one from the town of Albion, and one from near the village of Central Square. The Oswego County Health Department also reported that a third horse in southern Oswego County has died of EEE.
The Oswego County Probation Department reports that its computer servers have been fully restored and it is now able to resume service to the public, courts and clients. Clients are asked to contact their probation officer with any questions or concerns.
