After six months of research the city of Fulton received its review report from the state’s financial restructuring board on Monday (June 30) which includes several recommendations and an offering of $400,000 in grant money if certain conditions are met.

Ritchie Secure Funds For High School Bands

Included in the funding is $5,000 for Pulaski High School; aid which helped to make a trip to represent New York State in the National Fourth of July Parade in Washington D.C. possible. “I must say that I am very surprised and incredibly humbled by this wonderful donation. Sheriff’s Office Recovers Vehicle From Oswego River

On Wednesday (July 2), members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office recovered a 1988 Volvo station wagon from the Oswego River north of Lock 5 in Minetto. A sonar company hired by the NYS Canal Corporation had discovered the vehicle. Further investigation found it had been reported stolen to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office in 1996.

Minetto Fire Department Chief Arrested

State Police in Pulaski announce the arrest of Joseph M. Smegelsky Jr., 34, from Oswego, for Grand Larceny 3rd degree, a class “D” felony. An audit and investigation by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli’s office of the Minetto Fire Department reportedly uncovered the alleged misappropriation of nearly $20,000 in department funds by Smegelsky Jr., the department chief.
