Fulton Public Library Gets New Life With ‘Yes’ Votes

Fulton’s Public Library has new life and refreshed hope for its community vitality as voters overwhelmingly cast yes ballots to support funding the institution, staffing its board and providing a platform for continuity.
Fulton Public Library Board of Trustees President Marian Stanton said, “I’m very delighted. It was nerve wracking but I’m so glad that we’ve done it and we’re on our way to giving a stable library to the city of Fulton. It’s very gratifying.”

Fulton School District Voters Say ‘Yes’ to Budget, BOE and Library

The preliminary tally of Tuesday’s votes is in and the Fulton City School District community voiced its approval for the $67.4 million budget by a nearly two-to-one margin.
“Our budget passed,” Superintendent Bill Lynch said Tuesday night. “We had a very good voter turnout, which is what we always seek. That was gratifying. The community supported our budget and we’re very pleased for the continued support.”

Councilor Proposes Tougher Fines For Code Violations

“We spent about 95 percent of our time when we had codes, doing inspections. That’s pretty much all we do, leaving little time for enforcement,” Councilor Mike Todd said. “Nothing really gets done with enforcement. We need to get to a point where we have some teeth to go after these houses and start cleaning them up.” He proposed a scale of fines up to $5,000 as well as immediate eviction of problem tenants.

Fulton Police Investigating Reported Attempted Robbery

Fulton Police are investigating a report of an attempted robbery at Price Chopper located at 12 W. First St. S., in the city of Fulton. On Sunday (May 18), at about 1:20 a.m., officers responded to Price Chopper and found that an unknown white male had allegedly entered the business and passed a note to the clerk demanding money.
