Fulton Officials Proclaim Police Week
To honor the men and women who safeguard the rights and freedoms of citizens across the nation Thursday (May 15) has been designated by Congress and the President of the United States as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the city of Fulton Common Council passed a proclamation last week acknowledging its participation .
“National Police Week has two distinct purposes,” Alan DeLine, of Fulton’s Fire and Police Commission explained. “The first one is to honor the police officers who have made the supreme sacrifice – to serve as a remembrance of that fact. The second purpose is to celebrate all police officers and what they do on a day by day basis.”
