The board of education decided Wednesday night to repost the position of varsity boys’ track team’s head coach. During a lengthy debate, they stressed they aren’t against the veteran coach who was slotted for the job. The sticking point is the nearly $11,000 salary associated with the position.
The NYS Financial Restructuring Board for Local Governments held its third meeting on Tuesday. During the meeting, board members voted to accept applications from the city of Rochester and villages of Alfred, North Collins and Wilson for comprehensive review – the first step in the process. Members also discussed the progress of its already approved applicants – the city of Fulton and town of Fishkill.

State Police are investigating a larceny that occurred on September 25, 2013, at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 3018 East Avenue in the village of Central Square. Four Constellation Energy Nuclear Group employees recently were honored for their work in applying research and development by the Electric Power Research Institute), receiving EPRI Technology Transfer Awards, given annually to EPRI members who have led technology transfer efforts on behalf of their companies and the industry at large.
The Pulaski Marching Band has been selected to represent New York State in the National Fourth of July Parade in Washington, D.C. this year. The band will travel to Washington D.C. on July 3 and tour the nation’s capital and monuments prior to participation in the parade the following day.
