Fulton’s $1.2M Treatment Plant Upgrade a Go

Fulton's WWTPRepairs and upgrades to the city of Fulton’s waste water treatment plant, in compliance with a consent order issued by the Department of Environmental Conservation, are slated to begin as soon as the construction contracts are signed. “The contracts were issued last week,” project manager Jeremy Boyer said. “We’re executing them, getting our bonds and insurance together and we will return the contracts to city hall this week. As soon as they’re signed we’ll be ready to begin.”

County Legislators Hear About Impact, Analysis of Governor’s Property Tax ‘Freeze’ Proposal

Comparison of the proposalsThe Governor anticipates $2 billion will be available surplus in the state’s fiscal years 2016-17. The first $1 billion is earmarked for a two-year “property tax freeze,” accomplished by sending rebate checks to homeowners in each tax jurisdiction that complies with the two-percent real property tax cap. Many counties and the New York State Association of Counties are proposing an alternative method to provide more property tax reduction to New Yorkers.

Oswego Fire Department Extinguishes Blaze On Duer Street

At 3:09 p.m. today (Feb. 13), the Oswego Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 328 Duer St. A neighbor called 911 and alerted the resident that there were flames coming from the rear of the home. Crews confirmed that two people were home at the time of the fire, but had exited safely without injury.
