Oswego County Workforce New York supports retraining for displaced workers to improve skills and prepare for new careers

After several years working in the customer service field, Kelly Trejo found herself out of work. With funding assistance through a Workforce Investment Act training scholarship, Kelly completed the pharmacy technician program at OCM BOCES in August 2013. Through her hard work and perseverance, Kelly is not only a successful graduate, but is currently employed full-time at Wayne Drug in Oswego.

Oswego County Drug Task Force Announces Arrests of Four Granby Residents

Jimmy Javon Rolon, 21, and his mother, Veronica L. Lebron, 39, both of 123 Senior Avenue in the town of Granby, were arrested on November 25 following joint investigation. Adam M. Hamilton, 22, and his mother, Theresa Akarpinar, 45, both of 307 Rathburn Road, Lot #17, Granby, were arrested as a result of a search warrant executed at their residence.

Couple Personify The Spirit of Thanksgiving Season

In 2011, Jessie Fletcher and his fellow Marines were carrying out a mission in Afghanistan when a series of explosions went off. He suffered serious injuries. Not only did he recover, but on Nov. 16 he and Emily Ball were married.
