Four Arrests, Officer Injured Following Fulton Fight

At about 1:04 a.m. Wednesday, Fulton Police responded to the area of South Sixth and Rochester streets for a report of several people fighting with a knife possibly involved. Upon arrival, officers reported several people running from the area. While attempting to gain control of one of the defendants, an officer deployed the TASER. One Fulton Police officer did suffer a minor injury during the struggle.

The county legislature recently and city council on Tuesday night both presented proclamations recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month and honoring those who work to prevent such abuse. The goal of Domestic Violence Awareness Month is to raise public awareness of the epidemic of domestic violence in our country and to educate individuals on the impact and prevention of domestic violence in our communities.

Marching Bucs Capture Championship

“The Pride of Oswego” lived up to its moniker this past weekend as the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers returned home with a championship trophy and an assortment of hardware from a USBands competition in Nazareth, Pa. The Marching Bucs captured first place in its division, earned the best overall scored for the show and received trophies for best music, best visual performance, best effect, best guard and best percussion.

Oswego City Fire Department helps Cancer Services Program Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Members of the Oswego City Fire Department, Shift D, proudly display their pink shirts in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The department is selling shirts throughout the month. The shirts are available at the East Side Fire Station in Oswego. All proceeds benefit the Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County.
