Each month Recognizing Oswego County uses this recognition effort as a platform for emphasizing the wonderful work that is happening in Oswego County to promote the health and wellness of children, families and adults. The theme for September was outdoor awareness and appreciation.

The annual Senior Health and Wellness Fair featured more than 50 exhibitors, a free lunch (provided by students from BOCES) and entertainment by the area band “Anybody’s Guess.” These types of outreach events help put people in touch with the services they need, according to State Senator Patty Ritchie. At the event, she announced Louise Kellogg as the winner of the Oswego County “Senior of the Year” award for 2013.
Oswego County Clerk Michael Backus today joined several other clerks in New York State calling on Governor Cuomo and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Barbara Fiala to immediately suspend fees related to veterans seeking identification on a driver’s license. He made the announcement at today’s health and wellness fair, sponsored by Se. Patty Ritchie, in Fulton

At Tuesday’s school board meeting, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Cathy Chamberlain and the district’s Director of Mathematics Carrie Plasse presented a program on the implementation of the mathematics modules within the district in hopes of providing information and reducing the level of stress for everyone.
