Trio arrested when resident interrupts burglary in progress
At about 12:45 p.m. today (October 4), the New York State Police in Fulton were dispatched to a residence on Phinney Road in the town of Granby for a 911 call of a burglary in progress. A female resident had returned home and discovered that 3 males had broken into her residence and were attempting to steal property, troopers said.

Tradition Marches On – OHS bandmates Headed To U.S. Army All-American Marching Band
On Thursday night, Cassandra Hondro and Emily King were officially invited to join the Army All-American Marching Band. The pair was honored in front of other band members, classmates, fans and family during a post-rehearsal event. They are the 11th and 12th Marching Buccaneers to be selected to the prestigious band.

Oswego County Historical Society to Host Lecture on Remarkable Women of the Oswego Area
The Oswego County Historical Society will host its next lecture of the 2013 series on October 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richardson-Bates House Museum, 135 E. Third St.
The event is free and open to the public. A panel discussion program entitled “Remarkable Women of the Oswego area,” will be presented by guest speakers Marilynn Smiley, SUNY Oswego professor, and Helen Engel, retired adjunct professor.
