Petitions Filed for Oswego County Legislature Seats

As of July 11, anyone seeking to run for a seat on the county legislature needed to have his or her petitions filed with the Oswego County Board of Elections. In order to be put on the ballot for the primary elections, petitioners needed signatures comprising 5% of the total registered voters in his or her party.

Oswego Health will once again lead off Harborfest’s Children Parade with its new start time and route on July 26. Once the parade arrives at its new destination, the health system will offer fun games and activities for children. This year’s parade begins at Breitbeck Park at 1:30 p.m. and proceeds along West Fifth Street to Franklin Square/West Park.

A teacher from Fulton is among a crew of 15 educators taking a voyage aboard a 180-foot floating classroom this week. New York Sea Grant is hosting 15 teachers and non-formal environmental educators for a week-long, hands-on learning cruise aboard the federal research vessel the Lake Guardian.
