A small crowd gathered in the Burger King parking lot in Fulton on Tuesday afternoon. Some families held signs and balloons as they eagerly awaited the arrival of the bus from New York City carrying kids participating in the Fresh Air Fund who will be visiting Upstate New York for the next two weeks. Some are visiting Upstate for the first time. Others are returning to visit the same host families from previous summers.
At about 9 p.m., the Onondaga County 911 Center was advised that the New York State Police were in pursuit of a vehicle on Route 81 North near Preble and heading towards Onondaga County. The driver, and lone occupantof the vehicle, was taken into custody without incident by the New York State Police in Adams.
The 2013 Lakers ice hockey summer camp begins on July 15 at Campus Center Ice Arena and openings for youth skaters of all levels still remain.
A city resident filed a claim against the city for damages resulting from flooding of her finished basement. An investigation determined that the flooding was caused by negligence on the part of the city. The city will pay $16,463.84 in full settlement of the claim.
On Monday at approximately 11:29 a.m., Fulton Police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Dollar General located at 126 Cayuga St. in Fulton. Upon arrival, it was determined that two subjects had been involved in allegedly stealing several cans of air conditioning recharge canisters. One of the suspects allegedly threatened an employee with a knife and then a shovel.
The “PathFinder Bank Volunteer Program” is in full swing for Harborfest 2013. Volunteer training dates are coming up at the McCrobie Building at 41 Lake Street in Oswego.
The first training date is July 16 at 5:30 p.m. and the second is July 18 at 7 p.m.
The Davey Resource Group, a division of the Davey Tree Expert Company will be conducting a tree inventory, tree risk assessment and pest detection of all publicly owned trees in the city of Fulton neighborhoods during the month of July. This work is partly funded through an Urban Forestry Grant from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

Volunteers, river guides, and members of local environmental organizations will gather July 13, at the Pine Grove Boat Launch near Selkirk Shores State Park for a community water chestnut pull on the Salmon River Estuary. Volunteers may ride in a driftboat with members of the Oswego County River Guides Association, or bring their own canoes and kayaks.
