At the last Common Council meeting, the former Valero gas station was sold, and this week another Fulton property is off the market. This property previously had “lots of interest, but no bids,” said Mayor Ron Woodward.
Four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction rear-end MVA, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. The accident reportedly happened at Soule Road and Fairway Drive East shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One of the drivers, an Oswego resident, and her passenger suffered minor injuries, deputies said.
Spring gets a blustery welcome on Wednesday. It will be cold and snowy, especially east of Lake Ontario. High near 30.
The winter of 2012-13 was 4.1 degrees warmer than average. Two record high temperature marks were set. Dating back to 1843, that’s not really a big deal, the local NWS observer said, adding that this winter only ranks as the 11th warmest on record. The snowfall was 31.4 inches below where it should be.
The Oswego County Tourism Advisory Council awarded its 2012 Tourism Ambassador Hall of Fame Awards to two members of the Oswego County Legislature who have given unselfishly of their time and energy to support tourism in the county for many years.
This past weekend marked the first of two Maple Weekends in Upstate New York. These are the two weekends when sap is running strongest and sugarhouses all over Oswego, Oneida, Jefferson, and Lewis counties will open their doors to the public.
