With the arrival of cooler weather, health officials are reminding people that the risk of Lyme disease continues to be present across New York State. Lyme disease is caused by the bite of an infected deer tick, also known as the black-legged tick.

Nearly 70 people packed the Council Chamber Wednesday night for a town hall meeting with the Oswego Common Council. Comments focused on many quality of life issues. Several speakers gave the council suggestions for improving the city, including increasing the amount for fines regarding zoning and other violations.
The average temperature last month was 1.4 degrees above average. And, it is the first month since January where we have had above average precipitation.
