October 2012 was cloudy and a little wetter than normal. But it was also warmer than average; continuing a streak going back to April of 2011, according to Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service.
Oswego Harbor Festivals, Inc., will be hosting the inaugural “Collaboration of Kindness Day” on November 15 in the ballroom of the McCrobie Building on Lake Street adjacent to the Harborfest offices from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.
UPDATE: Victim identified. State Police are investigating a one-car fatal accident that occurred early Thursday morning. The crash happened at about 5 a.m. on Johnson Road in New Haven. The victim was the sole occupant of the vehicle, troopers said.
Blustery and colder Friday with snow possible in some areas
Both men involved have been arrested on weapons charges. The injuries aren’t life-threatening, police said.
Hurricane Sandy didn’t live up to its hype in these parts. However, a little bundle of energy – Emily Bradshaw – is going stronger than ever. Since the Oswego County Legislature meeting in September where she spoke about the lack of a homeless shelter in Oswego, things have been very busy for the young lady.
“Seeing a whole section of (New York) city mostly without power, joining in with people wandering around with flashlights, and witnessing cars slowly negotiating their way through intersections without working traffic lights, was insane!” said former OCT contributing writer Joceyln Cook.
A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized. Tickets are expected to be issued against the other driver, troopers said.
