A combining force of man and nature has suddenly made Catholic Charities of Oswego County to take action and temporarily vacate its historic headquarters. The force? A sudden infiltration by a large colony of bats thought to be caused by start of the massive $12-million Broadway Bridge reconstruction project over the Oswego River nearby.
A Watertown man is headed to state prison after accepting a plea deal on Monday. Late last month, Matthew D. Roof attempted to set someone on fire during a domestic dispute.

Weather permitting, the Oswego County Health Department will conduct aerial spraying on Tuesday. The aerial spray will begin after 6:45 p.m. and continue until the target area has been treated.
On Tuesday at approximately 7:15 p.m., the funeral procession for SPC Kyle Rookey will proceed from the Oswego County Airport to Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. The procession will be traveling north on State Route 481. Persons wishing to view the procession are asked to assemble in the lot north of Tim Horton’s on East First Street no later than 7:30 p.m. East Second Street will be closed to traffic between East Bridge and East Oneida streets
On Sept. 7 and 8, the Oswego City Police Department deployed additional personnel to address quality of life concerns in residential neighborhoods. This detail consisted of uniformed and plain clothes personnel and has been conducted since the start of classes at the college. As a result, several more arrests were made.
