The abuse of bath salts and other synthetic drugs is on the rise in the Oswego area. In response to this developing trend, the Upstate Poison Control Center of Syracuse will offer a free educational seminar, open to the public, to educate the Oswego community on this epidemic.
At its meeting Thursday night, the Oswego County Legislature approved four local laws regarding synthetic drugs. The majority of speakers at the public hearing were in favor of getting rid of these substances. One person spoke in favor of synthetic marijuana. Cigarettes and alcohol were just as dangerous, if not more so, he told the legislators.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Donald J. Martin Jr., 35, of 603 County Route 30, Apt. 4, Williamstown, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. He is alleged to have smoked Amped in the presence of a child.
