After an intensive search in the water and on land, it was determined the individuals had left on their own.
The Oswego School Board met to introduce the new athletic director Mike Conners and his vision for Oswego’s sports. However, discussion during the nearly 90-minute meeting quickly changed course, debating whether the district needs a new position to assist its student-athletes.
Board President John Dunsmoor described the position as an “athletic transition coordinator.”
Chad M. Kelly, 30 of Fulton, died on Monday, July 23, 2012,at Al Udeid Air Base, Doha, Qatar. A native of Fulton, he had been stationed at Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, NC.
On Sunday at approximately 4:09 p.m. members of the Oswego City Police Department arrested Ciara L. Martin, 26, of 1812 County Route 45 Fulton. Martin was found to be in knowing and unlawful possession of 240 Oxycodone tablets having a total weight of 4.445 ounces, police said.
One man was treated for a leg injury and a woman for head and internal injuries. A third person on the boat wasn’t hurt, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Temps near 90 today, slipping back to the mid-80s Wednesday before shooting back up to 90 or more the next four days.
The group regularly patrols the area between Fort Ontario and East 12th Street and puts special focus on the northern most areas; the empty lots around East Ninth, East 10th 1/2 and East 12th streets, their coordinator said. They have a good reputation with the Oswego Police Department and Border Patrol as well as reporting to CSX Police with any problems on their property, he added.
21-year-old Bryant S. Scharf, of Oswego, was arrested by Oswego Police and charged with Assault in the Third Degree for his alleged involvement in the incident. Oswego City Police are still asking for the public’s assistance in identifying all of the responsible persons.
