Dave White, New York Sea Grant Great Lakes Program Coordinator, has been named associate director of the Great Lakes Research Consortium.
Two Oswego residents and a Hannibal resident were charged earlier this week. They allegedly received benefits due to not reporting incomes received.
“Some of us have already been working in this warmer weather, and I’m afraid this Saturday might be cold, so dress accordingly,” said June MacArthur, Oswego Tree Steward and co-chair Tree Advisory Board. “We will meet, but if it’s cold we may not last too long.”

Upon arrival crews reported smoke and fire coming from an upstairs window and made an immediate entry to the area and quickly extinguished the fire. It was contained to one room. This was a small fire that could have been much worse. First arriving crews quickly entered the residence, extinguished the fire, the chief said.

The Oswego County Health Department on March 29 began the process of notifying businesses that they are prohibited from selling, distributing or giving away synthetic marijuana products. The Oswego City Police Department recently arrested 33-year-old Bruce H. Macmillan, of 269 W. Third St., Oswego, and charged him with several crimes stemming from a string of incidents allegedly committed by Macmillan since March .
“I am pleased that Governor Cuomo and the Health Department have taken a strong stance and banned the sale and distribution of synthetic marijuana,” said Barclay. “This harmful drug has been a threat to the safety and well-being of our children for too long and I am glad that our youth will no longer be legally exposed to its dangerous effects.”
