With just 56.1 inches of snowfall and no more in the immediate forecast, this winter is on its was to the top 10 – top 10 least snowiest winters that is. Since the winter of 1899 – 1900, only four others have had less snow.
According to WWNY-TV in Watertown, John Altman, III of Fulton suffered injuries in a crash during a vintage snowmobile race in Gouverneur Saturday.
The crash killed a racer from Ontario and forced the rest of the day’s races to be cancelled.

At the Great Eastern Whiteout there was a bit of “white” out on the ground. However, it was nowhere near the usual layers of crisp white snow usually present in Fulton in February. The War Memorial was full of snow sport enthusiasts, vendors, and plenty of parts for sale for those in attendance. But, their hopes for the main event of the day, the snowmobile races, were dashed by the inadequate weather.
The indirect transfer of the licenses will not result in any physical changes to the facilities
or any changes to the conduct of operations. The on-site organizations and plant staffs, including senior managers, will remain essentially unchanged by the license transfers.
