The next budget for the Fulton City School District begins more than $2 million in the hole.
Fulton’s Board of Education met Saturday morning to start building a budget that voters will accept or reject next May. The first thing they learned is that last year’s $2 million gap that was covered by using district reserves is right where they left it.

Hundreds brave the chilly temperatures and brisk winds for the annual ceremony. The city’s holiday tree was lit Thursday night in Civic Plaza. The winners of the scholastic holiday essay contest were announced. And, Santa greeted scores of youngsters eager to tell him their Christmas wish lists.
A single-engine, experimental plane crashed in a field not far from the Oswego County Airport Thursday afternoon, killing the pilot.
Police had not released the name of the person killed as of late Thursday night because they were in the process of notifying the victim’s family.
