Weather permitting, the Oswego County Health Department will conduct aerial spraying tonight, Friday, Aug. 26. The aerial spray will begin after 6 p.m. and continue until the target areas have been treated.

The Oswego County Health Department postponed its plans to spray an area of central Oswego County tonight due to the high winds. Wind speed is one of the many parameters used to make the determination to proceed with aerial spraying. Weather permitting, the department will resume aerial spraying Friday evening, Aug. 26.
Oswego County’s emergency managers are keeping an eye on Hurricane Irene’s path, but so far, see no reason to join the state in its round-the-clock emergency response to the cyclone.
“We’re monitoring the events,” said Terry Bennett, emergency services program coordinator for the county.
