Emergency Preparedness Drill Earns Good Grades

A public briefing was held at the Joint Operations Center in Volney to wrap up a three-day exercise to check preparedness at the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant. OHS Class Of 2011 Embarks On Rest Of Their Life

“We look at commencement as a beginning,” said OHS Principal Brian Hartwell. “It doesn’t mean we’re going to forget old friendships but you look forward to the rest of your life and you start to live your life. It’s exciting; it really is exciting.” The speakers told the class to never forget the friends they made in high school – but to also go out into the world and make new friends and achieve great things.

Dave White Officially Kicks Off Bid For Mayor’s Job

Dave White greets supporters Thursday as he officially announced his candidacy for mayor of Oswego.

William “Dave” White is president, but he wants to be mayor. On Thursday afternoon, the out-going president of the Oswego City School District’s Board of Education officially kicked off his campaign to become the next mayor of the Port City. Dozens of family members and supporters, including various candidates for city and county positions, applauded White’s announcement outside the Republican Headquarters on West Utica Street.

Oswego Summer School Registration Set June 29 At OHS

The 2010-11 school year has been completed, but there are some students who will require additional time in the academic areas. Once again the Oswego City School District will offer summer school from July 6 to  Aug. 16. Summer school will be conducted this year for grades nine through twelve at the Oswego High School.
