Hannibal Holds Memorial Day Service

Photo by Harrison Wilde.Residents of Hannibal gathered Monday for a Memorial Day service on the square in the center of the village.  It featured music from the Hannibal High School Band and a ceremony honoring the sacrifices made by veterans.

May 2011 Warmer And Wetter Than Average

It was so foggy at times last month, part of the Port City's skyline seemed to disappear.

The average temperature was 2.7 degrees higher than average. Precipitation for May was 1.64 inches higher than normal. And, there was plenty of fog, too.

The mission of the bookmobile is really quite simply. It’s about getting books to kids and empowering them to be great readers, organizers said. It will also prevent regression of students’ reading abilities over the summer, they added.
