Schroon Lake District To Have An Oswego Flavor

When Schroon Lake Central School District’s new superintendent takes over on July 1, she will bring a little bit of Oswego with her. At its April 14 meeting, the Schroon Lake board of education unanimously approved hiring Oswego Middle School Principal Bonnie Finnerty as the district’s new superintendent. “She was an effective leader as a building principal. She will be a wonderful superintendent,” said Oswego superintendent Bill Crist.

Bion Issues Progress Report On Kreider Waste Treatment Installation

Bion Environmental Technologies is pleased to announce that its Kreider Dairy Farm waste treatment installation is finishing construction and nearing operational startup. Bion has consistently recommended that third party data from the operation of this large-scale installation be a prerequisite for regulatory and public review of its proposed project in Oswego County. It would locate a 72,000-head cattle project somewhere in the county.

Hannibal Man Provides Inspiration to Others by Continuing Army Career After Ostomy

U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Bob CuylerThe U.S. Army sends us this story today, about Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Bob Cuyler of Hannibal.  It’s amazing he’s still in the Army, considering that he had to have his entire colon removed.  Cuyler now wears an ostomy bag, tied to his body by a tube.  He thought he might be discharged after the surgery.  Instead, his determination proved that he’s not only good enough for the Army, and he’s not only good enough for combat, but that his comeback and determination have proven to be an inspiration for others.
