A first look at Hannibal’s school budget for 2011-2012 wasn’t pretty. Hannibal’s Board of Education began the process of assembling a new budget by looking at what it will cost to keep everything the district has now.
The answer: About $470,000 more than this year. That’s about a 2% increase in spending.
The New York Times today explores one of the state’s biggest problems with solving its budget problems: The rising cost of the Medicaid health insurance program.

For Rick Wilson, the pet business is sort of a homecoming. For the past couple of months, he and his girlfriend, Jennifer Seabury, have operated The Pet Store at 388 W. First St., across from the Oswego Post Office, in the former Glider Oil site.

There will be plenty of ‘hot’ stuff to do in the Armory and all over Oswego during Saturday’s Warm Up event. A special dance will be held at the McCrobie Building Friday night as a warm up for Warm Up.
