It was a normal day that was about to come to an end as seventh grader Dillon “D.J.” Gibson and Oswego City School District bus aide Lori Lawton boarded the bus at Oswego Middle School for the lengthy trip home. The two had no connection other than they were about to cross paths in an unforgettable event.

Unemployment in Oswego County ended 2010 where it began — with one in every nine people out of a job.
The jobless rate for December, 2010 was 11.1%, up sharply from November, when the jobless rate was 10%. That’s the highest jobless rate in all of Upstate New York, and second-highest in the state, behind the Bronx’ 12% unemployment rate.

The Oswego City School District is operating on a 2-hour delay today (Jan. 24).
Public Hearings Set Monday On 2020 Plan And Animals
