A sad and bizarre two year old case — involving a 14 year old in Granby allegedly making explicit videos involving toddlers — ends with a judge’s sentence in England for another teenager.

Assistant District Attorney Gregory Oakes wrapped up his case against Joyce Malone on Wednesday. The defense will continue calling witnesses on Thursday. Malone is accused of killing her husband last March in their Oswego Town home. The trial is likely to last through early next week.
Edward Fillingham, of Henderson Harbor, was 75 in April 2009 when he launched his canoe despite extremely dangerous conditions and paddled 500 yards to save three boaters from the frigid waters of Lake Ontario. Rear Admiral Mike Parks, commander of the Ninth Coast Guard District, described Fillingham as “a shining example of what we all strive to be, a lifesaver and a servant.”

Sunday brought a surprisingly heavy snowstorm to the Fulton area. A narrow band of clouds dumped tons of snow on the city while leaving areas just north of the city line almost untouched.
