Travel Advisory Posted for Fulton, Hannibal
The City of Fulton and Town of Hannibal have issued a travel advisory, effective until 7:00am Monday 01/17/11. The City of Fulton DPW Commissioner Dan O’Brien and Hannibal Highway Superintendent Dan Mahaney have requested no unnecessary travel due to hazardous road conditions from the recent heavy snowfall.
Residents are asked to stay off the highways and are reminded to remove their vehicles from the streets, to ensure snow removal operations can take place without obstruction. This is a travel advisory only, not a Snow Emergency.
Oswego Council Committees To Meet Tuesday
Among the items on the agendas is a request to upgrade the lighting at the waste water treatment plants. It would mean an annual savings of about $3,250.
Hannibal Board Braces For More Cuts as Budget Talk Begins
Hannibal’s Board of Education will begin working on the next school district budget in a few weeks. They’re not hopeful about what the process will bring.
Board members said that they expect the state to provide no additional aid to schools this year and may impose another aid cut as part of the effort to reduce a $10 billion deficit in the upcoming state budget.
