Harborfest To Use Former Coleman’s Property While City Seeks Developers
The council agrees to seek developers for the former Coleman’s property. In the meantime, they will allow Harborfest to use part of the property to prepare for and celebrate the festival.
Funnel Cloud Spotted Near Palermo
A funnel cloud was spotted by a police officer and others in the Palermo area at around 8:36 p.m. Monday. Doppler radar also indicated the possible presence of a tornado.
Reports to the National Weather Service indicate that the storm blew down two barns and two sheds three miles southeast of Palermo. No injuries have been reported.

Flood Advisory Posted for Salmon River
The National Weather Service has posted a Flood Advisory for the Salmon River from Lake Ontario through Oswego County.
The advisory last until 6:15 p.m. Monday.
The weather service says the advisory is due to the heavy rain across the region and what it calls “related emergency river operations”.
Higher than normal water flows will be seen from the Altmar dam upriver through Pulaski and to Lake Ontario.
Extreme caution is being advised.
CCC Trustees Vote to Hold Tuition Level
Cayuga Community College tuition will not rise next school year, if the school’s trustees’ plan is accepted.
College trustees voted at last week’s meeting in Fulton to take more money from the college’s reserve fund in order to keep tuition level.

Tall Ships, Large Crowds Flow Into Oswego
A balmy lake breeze blew into Oswego’s historic Maritime District this weekend bringing not only three tall ships, but hundreds of visitors as well. The West First Street Pier welcomed The Pride of Baltimore ll, America’s Privateer Lynx, and The Unicorn to the Port City’s first-ever Festival of Sail.
Oswego Police Make Felony Drug Arrest
As a result of a search warrant executed at a Middle Road residence, police seized 29.2 grams of crack cocaine (with an approximate street value of $2,900) and approximately $1,716 in cash. The resident is facing two felony charges.
Festival Of Sail Under Way In Oswego
The Festival of Sail is under way in the Port City. The three-day event, featuring a trio of tall ships visiting Oswego, runs through Sunday on the west pier, next to the H. Lee White Marine Museum.
