OK, you can bring your teddy bears, but this year they probably should wear grass skirts. The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and Oswego Harborfest will host a Treasure Island Luau on Sunday. The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on West Fifth Street.
How could it have been worse? Oswego could have been just about any other county in the state.

At Monday night’s Common Council meeting, city officials spoke with one voice: “We won’t give up our fort without a fight!” The councilors encouraged the community in joining them in contacting state officials in an effort to keep the historic site open.
