Hannibal Playground Moving Closer To A Rebuild

At a special meeting of the Common Council Monday evening, councilors voted to approve the new sewer rate proposed by the mayor. Councilors Shawn Walker and Bill Sharkey voted against the increase. The public is invited to a town hall meeting Thursday to let city officials know how they feel.
“Our goal every year is to stay under budget and we did,” said Superintendent Bill Lynch.
It’s the second year in a row that the district has spent less than it budgeted and the seventh in the last eight years that it spent less than it took in in revenues.
Hannibal’s high school marching band has always led the fire department’s annual field days parade. Thursday night, the job fell to the Central New York Fire and Police Band. But the band, eliminated by budget cuts, marched anyway. They came to make a point.
