New Study Finds Lake Fishing, A Key Local Industry, Is Declining Fast
Oswego County’s signature industry is caught in a downward spiral, according to a new report.
The study, from New York Sea Grant, predicts that fishing trips to Lake Ontario will fall off by about a third in the next few years, draining $19 million from an $80 million business and costing 330 jobs.

Coin Lovers Gather In Fulton
Members of the Oswego County Numismatic Association held their 45th annual coin show Sunday in the Community Room at Fulton City Hall. Some of the club’s more than 40 members were on hand to buy and sell coins, along with postcards and other collectibles.

Fulton Buys Two Police Cars
Fulton city lawmakers met briefly Thursday to buy two new cars — the last ones available in the state for the rest of the year – for the Fulton Police Department. Mayor Ron Woodward said the city will pay cash, instead of borrowing money, to buy two interceptors for no more than $55,000.
